Framed Photography - Columbia River Gorge
'Heavens Garden' - Portland - Oregon - USA
Wahclella Falls is a waterfall located in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area in Oregon, United States. The waterfall is located on the Tanner Creek, which flows into the Columbia River. The trailhead is located near the Bonneville Dam and visitors can follow the Tanner Creek Trail to reach the waterfall. The trail passes through a lush forest and offers several viewpoints of the Columbia River, as well as the waterfall. The trail ends at the base of the falls, where visitors can get a close-up view of the waterfall and enjoy the mist and the sound of the falling water. Wahclella Falls is a two-tiered waterfall that drops about 100 feet in total. The water cascades over a rocky outcropping and then drops into a deep pool. The waterfall is particularly beautiful during the rainy season, when the water flow is high and the waterfall is more powerful.
This Large format, fine art photograph allows for a high level of detail and resolution, which is ideal for capturing the intricate patterns and textures of the waterfall and the surrounding landscape. The high resolution can help to capture the fine details of the falling water, the rocks and the vegetation that surround the waterfall.
Large format photographs are typically much larger than those taken with traditional cameras, which makes them ideal for printing at large sizes. This can be particularly beneficial when photographing a landscape like Wahclella Falls, as the large print can help to convey the scale and grandeur of the scene.
I initially thought getting to this waterfall would be a fairly easy hike of about a mile or so, however half a mile in and with little warning you find yourself about 300 ft high navigating very narrow muddy ledges with nothing but a shear drop beside you. Difficult under normal circumstances but extremely difficult when carrying lots of panoramic camera gear.
