The Petrified Forest in Arizona is a national park located in the northeastern part of the state, near the city of Holbrook. It encompasses over 200 square miles of land and features an array of geological wonders, including the world?s largest concentration of petrified wood. The forest is home to a wide variety of plants and animals, including the endangered bald eagle, bighorn sheep, and Gila monster. The park also includes fossilized remains of ancient plants and animals, as well as Native American artifacts. Visitors can hike and camp in the park, and explore its many scenic vistas. The Petrified Forest is also home to the famous Painted Desert, which features colorful rock formations and the picturesque Painted Desert Inn.
